PORTLAND – The Portland St. Patrick Shamrocks did to the North Huron football team what the coronavirus couldn’t do: They ended the Warriors’ season.
The Shamrocks beat the Warriors 34-12 in the 8-Player Division 2 semifinals in Portland on Saturday. St. Patrick got out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Warriors regrouped and kept pace with the Shamrocks the rest of the game.
Still, the hole was just too deep, and St. Patrick held on to advance to next week’s Division 2 championship game against Powers North Central.
