MICHIGAN CITY — La Porte County’s two-year grant from the Indiana State Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission has been renewed for another two years through 2025.
The Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission at the Indiana State Department of Health awarded $200,000 in grant money for community-based tobacco cessation efforts in Bartholomew County.
The American Cancer Society is emphasizing the need to discuss an increase to the state’s cigarette tax, which at 99 cents per pack is the 39th-lowest tax rate in the country.
(The Center Square) – Indiana received more than $200 million this month from tobacco product manufacturers under the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA), Attorney General Todd Rokita announced.
