Sources confirm to KPRC 2 the board of trustees is going through the final stages of candidate interviews. An agenda for a board meeting scheduled for Thursday lists a discussion about naming a finalist or finalists for the job. Trustee members told KPRC 2 they could not speak officially on the selection process until a decision has been made.
Outgoing interim superintendent, Dr. Grenita Lathan, announced in March she would leave her post of three years for a superintendent job in Springfield, Missouri. HISD’s current board of trustees voted not to name Lathan the sole finalist during a meeting in November of 2020, prompting concern from community leaders who condemned the move.

It was a curious sight.
On the first day of April, an emergency shelter for unaccompanied migrant children was opened in Houston, Texas. Seventeen days later, a large group of teenage girls boarded a bus to leave the shelter, which was being shuttered, having fallen short on doing the job.
Since mid-March, the Biden administration has opened about a dozen such shelters, struggling to improve our nation’s care for a growing number of young people crossing the border. But the closing of the Houston facility was hardly a sign of progress, and we simply must do better.
https://www.afinalwarning.com/513395.html (Natural News) A temporary housing facility for illegal aliens in Houston has been abruptly shuttered by the Biden regime following reports that living conditions were “unbearable.”
The warehouse, owned by the National Association of Christian Churches (NACC), was originally designed for disaster services. On April 1, however, it was transformed into a holding facility for illegals due to a massive border influx under Resident Biden.
Immigrant advocate groups had raised concerns about conditions at the shelter, as well as NACC’s unfamiliarity with “unaccompanied” children. The final straw was when a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) staffer dropped dead at the facility the night before it was shuttered.
