TriMet is continuing to adjust its bus schedules to better connect residents in the region to where they work. The most recent round of changes determined through the agency’s Forward Together serice.
TriMet will reduce service on 20 of its 84 bus lines starting January 9 due to a shortage of bus drivers, the transit agency announced Friday. The reductions will decrease TriMet’s total bus service by 9 percent, which, according to the agency, will be comparable to the bus service TriMet adopted at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020. The reduced bus lines are throughout TriMet’s service area, including Barbur/Sandy Boulevard (Line 12),.
TriMet to hold virtual open house on service improvements
Proposed changes to 11 bus lines will be presented and discussed Wednesday, Feb. 10.
TriMet will hold a virtual open house on proposed service improvements for the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022 from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
TriMet held its first open houses on the proposed service improvements last fall and made some changes to the plan based on public feedback. The proposals are intended to adjust a number of bus routes to help speed up service and make it more reliable with improvements that come at little to no cost.
Visit trimet.org/plan to join the open house with CISCO Webex or TriMet s Facebook page.
