CES 2024, the world s largest tech event, will showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations from various sectors with a focus on artificial intelligence. Sam Altman, the poster boy of AI, will not appear at the trade show.
Several technologies in alternative energy sources including lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and green hydrogen will coexist in India. It is not the case that the newer technologies will not cannibalize existing technologies. Sodium-ion batteries are being proposed as an alternative to lithium due to India's limited resources. However, sodium-ion will not be the only mode of alternative energy for India, as evidenced by recent auctions of rare minerals, including lithium reserves. Experts suggest that government policy should be nimble and adaptive to promote economically viable technologies.
