CES 2021 has kicked off where Intel has highlighted its next-generation Alder Lake chips designed for desktop and mobile processing. Intel claims that the Alder Lake processors are its most power-scalable system-on-chip.
The 12th gen Intel Alder Lake chips are designed to power future desktop and mobile processors. The next-generation chipset will be coming in the later half of 2021, Intel said. The Alder Lake chips are based on Intel’s new 10nm SuperFin process. It will combine the high-performance cores and high-efficiency cores, similar to how the Apple M1 chips function.

Microsoft has quietly launched the upgraded version of Surface Pro 7 at CES 2021. Called the Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ for Business, the convertible device comes with noteworthy internal upgrades like an 11th Gen Intel Core processor, more RAM, and a swappable SSD.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ base model comes with an Intel Core i3 11th gen processor. The company is offering Core i5 and i7 processor options as well. Microsoft claims that the new chips offer 30 percent more boost in performance. The use of Iris Xe GPU is claimed to offer a whopping 80 percent jump in graphics performance. Overall, the new Microsoft Surface 7+ is now 2.1x faster than before.

Sony has taken a square aim at a sizeable market ruled largely by drone giants DJI. At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2021, Sony has unveiled the Airpeak – a camera drone that is designed specifically to carry and operate Sony’s Alpha line of professional mirrorless cameras. The purpose of the drone is strictly professional, and is to be used for shooting aerial videos. To that end, Sony has also released a demo video showing both the drone and sample footage that is claimed to have been captured by the Airpeak drone.
