Julie Weichman MSN, RNC-MNN, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Grand View, passed her CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) exam. There is a lot of prep, studying, and then testing to receive this certification.
Certification in any field is a mark of professionalism. For academic nurse educators, it establishes nursing education as a specialty area of practice and creates a means for faculty to demonstrate their expertise in this role. It communicates to students, peers and the academic communities that the highest standards of excellence in education are being met. By becoming a certified nurse educator, Julie serves as a nurse scholar and role model.
