Elon Musk has been in the news for his recent tweets on cryptocurrency and the effect they have had on its prices. On Monday, hours after the prices of Bitcoin was trading at its lowest in three months at around $43,000 at 8.54 AM IST, Musk tweeted that Tesla had not sold any Bitcoin.

On May 13, Musk had tweeted that Tesla had stopped accepting Bitcoin to purchase its vehicles due to climate concerns. He had said Tesla will not be using any Bitcoin and we intend to use it for transaction as soon as mining transitions to more sustainable energy.

Ahead of India operations, Tesla reports $10.3 bn in sales in Jan-March 21; makes $101 mn in Bitcoin

Before it starts India operations this year, Tesla has reported $10.3 billion in sales and net income of $438 million in the first quarter of 2021, a growth of 74 percent from a year-ago period, along with making $101 million on sales of Bitcoins which is its next big bet.
In its quarterly earnings presented late on Monday, Tesla reported it produced 180,338 vehicles in Q1 and delivered 184,777 vehicles. In Q1, we achieved our highest ever vehicle production and deliveries. This was in spite of multiple challenges, including seasonality, supply chain instability and the transition to the new Model S and Model X, the company said in a statement.

The unusual public apology from Tesla followed criticism in state media, and an incident at the Shanghai auto show that got wide attention in China s social media,
