From Staff Reports Two local businesses were among 13 recently honored by West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner for being active for at least a century. Windsor Coal Company LLC in Marshall County and the Home for Aged Men in Ohio County were among those invited into the 2020 West Virginia Centurion Chamber Commerce, which recognizes active business entities that have been in continuous operation for 100 years or more. “These businesses have withstood generations, challenging economic times, and ever-changing technology,” Warner said. “They include banks, newspapers, hospitals, family-owned businesses, and more. These Centurions are anchors and leaders in our communities.” Warner announced the West Virginia Centurion Chamber of Commerce Award in 2019 as a way of recognizing businesses that have withstood the test of time in the Mountain State. 13 West Virginia businesses recognized for longevity

13 West Virginia businesses recognized for longevity December 30, 2020 GMT CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) Thirteen West Virginia businesses are being recognized for being in continuous operation for at least 100 years. Recipients of the West Virginia Centurion Chamber of Commerce award were announced Tuesday by Secretary of State Mac Warner. “These businesses have withstood generations, challenging economic times, and ever-changing technology,” Warner said in a statement. “These Centurions are anchors and leaders in our communities.” The businesses receiving awards include The Union Sales Company, The Bunker Hill Cemetery Association, Charles W. Cammack Children’s Center Inc., Ronceverte Ice and Produce Company, Camp Greenbrier Inc., Progressive Women’s Association, Windsor Coal Company LLC, Greer Industries Inc., Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce Inc., The Home for Aged Men, Raleigh General Hospital, Kelley Foundry & Machine Company and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
