NORTH PROVIDENCE – The inaugural North Providence Village Festival in Centredale has the go-ahead it needs to debut in 2021, planned for July 30-Aug. 1 along Smith Street near Town Hall. The roadway will be closed to traffic for the three-day event.
The idea of Town Councilor Steven DiLorenzo, the festival is meant to bring people together and allow them to kick back in a relaxed atmosphere as they support local businesses and vendors.
“It will hopefully give local businesspeople a little shot in the arm,” he told The North Providence Breeze.
There will be about 30 to 40 vendors, chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. Entertainment will be provided by Steve Anthony (Town Councilor Steve Loporchio), Ron Giorgio, a couple of bands, and youth from the School of Rock in North Providence. There will be food and drink, plenty of entertainment, and fun activities for children including face-painting.

NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI A North Providence restaurant was ordered to temporarily close its doors following repeated coronavirus safety violations, according to Attorney general Peter Neronha s Office. Centredale Revival was allowed to reopen after agreeing to follow the state s safety regulations.
The order was issued Rhode Island Superior Court in partnership with Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the state s Department of Health and Neronha s office. The report accused the restaurant of allowing patrons to not wear masks, ignoring social distancing requirements and staying open after the state s restaurant curfew, which goes into effect at 10 p.m. during the week and 10:30 p.m. on weekends.
