Denise Chaila and Niall Horan take top gongs at RTÉ Choice Music Awards Reporter:   ); Limerick artist Denise Chaila has been announced as the winner of the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year 2020 for her album Go Bravely, while Mullingar native Niall Horan s No Judgement scooped Song of the Year. U2 s Adam Clayton made the announcement live after the judging panel, made up of Irish music media professionals and chaired by Jim Carroll, met up over Zoom to decide on the winning album.  Chaila received a cheque for €10,000, a prize which has been provided by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA), as well as a specially- commissioned award.

Louise Loves: Limerick’s Denise Chaila is the people’s choice! Reporter:   ); THE shortlist for this year s Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year 2020 was announced on Wednesday. For the first time since I can remember female acts dominate the finalists with a total of six nominees! Among them Limerick’s own Denise Chaila who is hotly tipped to scoop the top prize. Denise’s Narolane colleagues and current band mates Godknows and Murli, are no strangers to the Choice Prize stage. In 2017 as the “Rusangano Family’ their debut album Let The Dead Bury The Dead, won the Album of the Year. It looks like our Limerick powerhouses could be in line to claim the title for a second time!

Shortlist revealed for RTÉ Choice Music Prize s Irish Album of the Year 2020 Reporter:   ); The shortlist for this year s RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year 2020 was revealed on Wednesday. Bitch Falcon, Denise Chaila, Fontaines D.C, JyellowL and Róisín Murphy are among those acts nominated for the  Album of the Year 2020. Now in its 16th year, the Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year award is chosen from a shortlist of ten albums by a panel of eleven Irish music media professionals and industry experts. Jim Carroll, chairman of the judging panel, announced the shortlist on RTÉ 2FM’s Tracy Clifford Show.
