Chandler, 83, was living in a Syracuse nursing home when she was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Her family could not enter the facility not even to say goodbye before she took her painful, final breath, according to her obituary. She died “in total agony, surrounded by no one,” her family wrote in the obituary. “That is what Covid-19 does for the ones you love,” family members wrote.
