A traffic stop by Kern County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday led to a narcotics arrest involving Approximately 51,000 suspected Fentanyl pills with an estimated street value of $255,000.
Deputies from the canine unit conducted a traffic enforcement stop on Wednesday, March 31, in the area of South H Street and Panama Lane Bakersfield.
Deputies contacted the driver, later identified as Jose Mario Quintero Beltran, 31, of Bakersfield, and a 17-year-old passenger, according to a KCSO news release.
Deputies obtained consent from Beltran to search the vehicle and located several thousand suspected Fentanyl pills in the rear passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Due to the quantity of the suspected Fentanyl pills, detectives assigned to the Kern County-High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (KC-HIDTA) responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Five adult males were arrested and 4,306 high grade indoor marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $12,900,000 were seized after the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation and Narcotics Operations Units executed a search warrant Friday at a large industrial property in North Bakersfield.
Avetis Torosyan, 62, from North Hollywood; Pogos Asuanyan, 60, from Glendale; Hayk Minasyan, 32, from Panorama City; Norair Vardanian, 59, from North Hollywood; and Vague Oganasyan, 66, from Southern California were arrested and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Central Receiving Facility jail on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of sales, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation and Narcotics Operations Units seized roughly $110,000 worth of Fentanyl pills on Thursday after a two-week investigation. Two men were arrested and approximately 11,000 M-30 Fentanyl pills were seized, which have an estimated street value of $110,000.
Jesus Antonio Garcia-Gonzalez and Noel Ayon-Aragon were arrested in the 6600 block of Colony Street in Bakersfield after the Fentanyl and a loaded handgun were located inside one of their vehicles.
Garcia-Gonzalez,19, from Delano, California, was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Central Receiving Facility jail for possession and transportation of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
