The season opener against Louisiana on Sept. 4 will air on FOX at 3:30 p.m. Central in the debut for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff. It will be the third all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Longhorns winning in 2000 and 2005. Two weeks later, on Sept. 18, Texas returns to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium following the road trip to Fayetteville to face Rice at 7 p.m. Central on Longhorn Network. The in-state opponents have met 95 times previously, with the Horns holding a 73-21-1. Texas has not played Rice at home since a win in 2015.
