Decision to temporarily lower Interest Rates to zero. Beautiful day outside. I think we have some great things to talk about. The federal reserve, as you know, it just happened 10 minutes ago but to me it makes me very happy and i want to congratulate the federal reserve. For starters, they lowered the federal rate from what it was, from 1 to one point 25 , and 0. 25 . Down to 0 , to so 0 to 0. 25 . Thats a big difference, quite a bit. And in addition, very importantly, the federal reserve, they are going to be purchasing 500 billion of treasuries and 200 billion of mortgagebacked securities, and that number can increase, but they will start with that. Thats really good news. Really great for our country. Something that were very happy, i have to say, im very happy. They did it in one step. They didnt do it in four steps over a long period of time. Were the strongest country in the world by far, financially and in every other way, and that brings us in line with what other countries are. They actually have negative rates, but we get it down to potentially zero. Thats a big step, and im very youy they did it, and will not hear anything bad about me unless it is a month or two from now. So i congratulate the federal reserve. It is ter

I also served as the dean of Columbia Law School from 2004 to 2014 which i mention for a very particular reason. I was a dean when the professor joined our faculty and one of my proud moments when we persuaded her to do that. So im honored to kick off what i know will be a fascinating discussion about the influence oof the influence ofeurope on tl marketplace. Last year the wall street journal called the decline of europe a force in World Affairs the most consequential shift of the last 100 years and there is some truth in that since world war ii military influence of europe is certainly declined, and its also true the Economic Growth has been compared favorably with that of the United States or for example with china or india. And of course efforts to maintain an Economic Union have been more complicated greatly as we all know. But still, i think professor bradfor
