The CBI carried out searches at the home of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra as part of its probe into the cash-for-query scam. Following a directive from the Lokpal, the CBI conducted a preliminary inquiry and was tasked with thoroughly investigating all aspects of the complaints against Moitra within a six-month period.
Teams of the central probe agency reached Moitra s residence in Kolkata and other cities early on Saturday, informed about the search proceedings and started the operation.
