Artists find inspiration in Xinjiang on two-week tour--China Economic Net

A group of artists from China, South Korea, Canada, Belgium, Mongolia and other countries recently finished their journey to Kashgar, Aksu and Urumqi in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.   During the two-week trip, they visited the Ancient City of Kashgar, a national 5A-level tourist attraction featuring a rammed-earth building complex that can trace its origins back 2,000 years; the Kizil Grottoes, the longest surviving grotto temple site in the country; Tianshan Grand Canyon, a national-level forest park; local museums and other places that might spark the artists creativity.   The experience of enjoying the splendid and picturesque scenery as well as embracing the cultural diversity of different ethnic groups in the region has inspired the artists to portray what they ve seen and express their feelings using pencil, brush and palette. The sketches, oil paintings, prints and installation artworks they created during the two weeks have been on display at the Xinjiang Academy

Central Academy of Fine Arts launches children s arts competition

ARTS / ART By Global Times Published: May 09, 2021 07:28 PM Promotional material for the children s arts competition photo: Courtesy for Yang yang An art competition focused on artworks from children was recently launched in Beijing to promote arts education among children across the country.  The event, open to children age 4 to 13, is divided into three smaller categories: art, calligraphy and the potential group.  A total of 580 candidates will compete at the preliminary stage, with 15 finalists going against each other for the final prize.  Promotional material for the children s arts competition photo: Courtesy for Yang yang As a non-profit event, the completion s goal is to draw attention to the importance of children s arts education in China as well as to provide children with free art guidance to improve their explorations of beauty and creativity.
