The fact is the worst is yet to come for weeks now San Francisco city officials have warned the most vulnerable populations are most at risk for the coronavirus among them the homeless. Now an outbreak at the citys largest homeless shelter Multiservice Center self at 5th and bryant. We have identified. 70 people 68 members of the shelter as well as 2 Staff Members who have tested positive for covid19. Typically this place can house up to 340 people but efforts by the city to increase social distancing by spreading out shelter residents to other locations. Made it so as of thursday shelter Public Health director doctor grant colfax says the first 2 cases were confirmed sunday night. Those 2 were moved to hotels for isolation and then on wednesday all shelter guests were tested. Currently. My department is conducting a mass testing strategy at msc south.
