Last night in orlando people gathered at the church to remember those that died, and the 49 names were read out loud amid this long as, candles, prayers and a lot of memories. Services are taking place throughout the orlando area and around the country today. Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned the ban on gay marriages, and the couple married in dc where the interracial marriages were legal and arrested in virginia for violating state law. The case made it to the Supreme Court in 1967 which ruled unanimously on june 12 that the ban violated the 14th amendment. Hundreds of people took to the streets in the south bay to oppose hate and bigotry, part of the nationwide marks for equality and why are the people filling the need to take part.
