Mackinac Center claims Michigan State University violated FOIA

EAST LANSING, MI The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is suing Michigan State University, claiming the school violated the Freedom of Information Act, the Center announced Dec. 17.
The Mackinac Center, a nonprofit research and educational institute that advances the principles of free markets and limited government, alleges that the university has had five months to release records that MSU estimated would take less than 24 hours to produce.
The Mackinac Center submitted a FOIA request on June 26 requesting email correspondence relating to Dr. Stephen Hsu, former vice president for research and innovation at MSU, according to court documents.
