York city to help with the Coronavirus Crisis by treating patients with other surgical needs that would be handled normal times by the hospitals. Well the state of new york, the epicenter now in our country of this outbreak, and that ship comes just one day after the president signed the massive coronavirus stimulus relieve bill which would give Financial Aid to americans and businesses that are so hardly affected by the virus. Here is the president earlier on potential one thing hes considering, thats a possible quarantine of the new york, new jersey, connecticut areas for 2 weeks he says because of the numbers of cases here. I am now considering and will make a decision very quickly, very shortly, a quarantine, because its such a hot area of new york, new jersey and connecticut will be announcing that one way or the other fairly soon. Eric Mark Meredith live at the white house with the very latest on what is being considered, hi, mark. Mark hi, eric, thats something that the presiden
Dr. Anthony fauci earlier today, the director of National Institute of health, he was on Fox News Sunday. Things are going to get worse before they get better but the kinds of things we are doing now will hopefully mitigate that. Eric team fox news coverage, Mark Meredith with the response, marianne rafferty, dallas and dfw and dulles last night and first with Kristin Fisher who is life with the latest tally, hey, kristin. This is the sunday before st. Patricks day, now many of those places and events have been canceled or closed and as you just heard dr. Fauci, the governments Infectious Disease expert, he says that things are undoubtedly going get worse before they get better. Here in the United States right now weve got nearly 3,000 americans who have tested positive for the coronavirus and that number is only expected to rise as the countrys ability to test to the virus accelerates. More than 50 americans have been killed. Millions of students are out of school and 39 states plus t
And that there will be small outbreaks that will emerge sporadically. Stalks the human race. And as President Trump is set to name his new opening our country task force, dr. Were made sooner, we could have saved lives. Here on msnbc last hour with reverend sharpton, fauci had new information on just how early he advised the administration that a crisis was coming. By the time we got that information and we started getting cases here, it was not as efficiently spread from human to human, but as soon as it became clear there was community spread, that means it isnt just a travelrelated case, that there is cases in the community under the radar screen, then it became clear that we were in real trouble. When was th
Supply chain capacity and projection of shortages . Thank you for that question and statements, senator murray. Yes, as i stated, we continue to have a work in progress as we build the testing capacity. We have established the targets with the states of over 12 million tests over the next four weeks. We think those targets are going to be good in may and june, but as dr. Fauci said, we really have to be evidence based. We expect those targets to go up as we progressively open, as communities go through phase 1 and then into phase 2, and certainly those numbers will need to go up significantly again in the fall when we potentially have influenza circulating with covid. So, yes, there will be targets. The targets will need to change based on the evidence that we see, but we are highly committed to securing the supply chain. We work daily with every manufacturer, and im just pleased were, in may and june, able to get ahead of the states so that we can supply them what they need so they ha
