North Berwick teenager runner-up at rural awards ceremony

A TEENAGE agriculture trainee was named runner-up in an award ceremony that recognises the top trainees and rural learners in Scotland. Amy Lochhead was awarded agriculture learner of the year runner-up at Lantra Scotland’s ALBAS (Awards for Land-based and Aquaculture Skills). Due to coronavirus, this year’s ceremony took place virtually last Thursday, covering a range of rural industries. The 18-year-old from North Berwick is doing a modern apprenticeship level three in agriculture at Carcant Farm through Borders College. The former North Berwick High School pupil also runs a Facebook page called ‘Celtic Shepherdess’ and has previously worked at NB Dogs dog boutique in Gullane.
