In a major leap for home astronomy, Celestron, a leader in high-quality telescopes, has announced the release of its latest product, the Celestron Origin. This intelligent home observatory is designed to make exploring the cosmos accessible and enjoyable for all, regardless of their level of expertise in astronomy.
The Celestron Origin is equipped with a customized version of the Rowe Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) f/2.2 optical system, a technology celebrated for its wide field of view and ultra-fast capabilities. This system, commonly used by professional researchers and institutions, is now available to the public, offering an unprecedented stargazing experience.
At the heart of the Origin’s capabilities is a 6.4 MP Sony IMX178 color CMOS sensor, enhanced with STARVIS back-illuminated technology. This feature provides users with stellar clarity and image detail, surpassing the quality typically achievable with larger traditional telescopes.
