This is really like a celebration of the authority and i would like to take one quick minute to highlights the things that have happened in the past 12 months and completely amazing. When weiss came back to the organization as executive director in 2001, within two weeks he had inserted himself into the 2001 Regional Transportation Plan process which as commissioners weiner and campos knows is at the critical moment that you know which projects will get funded and which wont. And due to his expertise and the arena not settling for less for San Francisco which really should have more. We ended up with not just two projects that the city family was going to settle for, but we got the central subway and the terminal and the parkway and the electrickation plan. That was an historic moment and all of those projeks are moving forward. It lead the groundwork for the prop b sales tax and we got the first transportation plan. The

But a lot of it does not see the light of day because of the business of planning and building transportation infrastructure is long term and it moves sometimes of what appears to be the age, and speed. But it is all the more reason to give you informed about it and the public of course about the things that are happening.
