Residents lined the streets Tuesday to cheer on members of the Saugus High School Class of 2021 who drove past in a rolling car parade.
More than 100 vehicles carrying graduating Saugus High School seniors set out from Blessed Sacrament Church and wound through Saugus Center before the procession concluded at the Saugus Middle-High School complex.
Many teachers stood outside the Belmonte School and Middle-High School holding signs and offered words of encouragement to the students.
Convertibles, Jeeps and SUVs were adorned with balloons and congratulatory messages to the Class of 2021.
“Thanks for the ‘virtual’ memories” and “Good luck Sachems!” were a few of the inscriptions scrawled on the cars.
