Yanga SC s Kaze and Ntibazonkiza crowned the best for December

According to Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Kaze beat Sven Vandenbroeeck (formerly of rivals Simba SC) and Biashara United coach Francis Baraza to the award while Ntibazonkiza emerged top after beating Seif Karihe of Dodoma City and Simba’s Clatous Chama. Since joining Yanga on October 22, 2020, to replace fired Serbian Zlatko Krmpotic, Kaze is yet to lose a match with the Jangwani giants. In December, Yanga played four matches against Ruvu Shooting, Mwadui FC, Dodoma Jiji, and Ihefu FC and still came out unscathed, and thus giving him the award. Meanwhile, since arriving at Yanga, Ntibazonkiza has been the darling of club fans as he has managed to score goals in crucial matches, his latest being in the 1-1 draw against Tanzania Prisons at the start of the second round.

“Both Ntibazonkiza and Yacouba picked up injuries during the Ihefu match while Nchimbi has been permitted to go and settle family problems but we still have a room for the named injured players to see how they will respond to the final training session and then we will know whether to feature them or not,” Kaze told On facing Tanzania Prisons, Kaze said: “Each game is different and we are aware that Tanzania Prisons are a good side too as they play as a team and they have a coach with vast experience of the Mainland Premier League but we have prepared in accordance with the status of the game itself.”

Ihefu FC 0-3 Yanga SC: Mwananchi finish first-round matches unbeaten

10 minutes later, Feisal Salum powered home the third goal which ended any hopes Ihefu had to get something from the fixture. Yanga under coach Cedric Kaze took control of the game from the onset as they knew a win will help them stretch their lead at the top of the 18-team table with their rivals Simba SC, away in Zimbabwe for the Caf Champions League fixture against FC Platinum. Kaseke, who was a thorn in Ihefu’s defence finally broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute after racing onto a through ball, rounded three defenders before placing it into an empty net.
