The Bureau of Corrections has suspended visitation at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City and the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City, amid a rise in COVID-19 cases.
The latest count by the Bureau of Corrections showed that 57 inmates, including five personnel from NBP, tested positive for COVID-19 following the tests conducted from May 2 to 4. But these reported infections are mild and asymptomatic cases.
Forty-eight persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City tested positive for Covid-19, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
People visiting offices of the Bureau of Corrections and the New Bilibid Prison are now required to wear face masks and present negative antigen results as COVID-19 cases rise.
