As well as pieces inspired by dementia which went on display in the Ulster Museum and a gallery in Dublin, after she lost her dad she created Grief - a series of shapes created using damaged items which she crushed down and then polished. My piece, Grief, was a way to process my loss by solidifying it into a form - a comforting, tactile and familiar form. I deliberately chose not to traditionally glaze this form, instead allowing the freckles of failed work to be prominently present across the earthy surface.
