THE Covid-19 vaccination rollout in Cebu City will resume on Monday, May 3, 2021. Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, lead convener of the Vaccine Advisory Board, said in a Facebook post that senior citizens who are on the waiting list and those who have received a text last April 23 will be accommodated first. The City had its last vaccination on April 23. The schedule of other barangays that will start on May 4 will be announced on May 3. The vaccination was temporarily stopped for a week due to lack of supply of vaccines. All the three vaccination sites in the city University of Cebu (UC) Banilad, Robinsons Galleria, and SM Seaside City will be used when the vaccination resumes on Monday.

(File photo) + April 04, 2021 ONLY around 11 percent of the total population of senior citizens in Cebu City have registered for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program so far. Cebu City Health Department (CHD) officer-in-charge Jeffrey Ibones said that as of April 4, 2021, only around 9,000 senior citizens have registered to receive the Covid-19 vaccines. Cebu City has more than 82,000 senior citizens. “Kahibaw ko nga gamay pa gyud na, kuwang pa gyud na (I know that that’s still too few),” Ibones told SunStar Cebu in an interview on April 4. Senior citizens or those aged 60 years old and above belong to the Priority Code A2 which is next to the frontline workers in health facilities for vaccination.
