+ May 10, 2021 THE Cebu City Government started injecting medical frontliners with the second dose of the two-dose Sinovac vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) at the Robinsons Galleria and the University of Cebu Banilad campus on Monday, May 10, 2021.
Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, officer-in-charge of the City Health Department, said close to 800 health care workers showed up to complete their vaccination.
He said the inoculation of senior citizens and persons with comorbidities, or those belonging to the A2 and A3 priority groups, respectively, has been suspended while the City awaits the next delivery of vaccines from the Department of Health 7.
Almost all of the more than 9,000 Sinovac vaccines allocated to the City the other week were used up last week. There was enough left to inject more than 100 senior citizens and persons with comorbidities with the first dose of the vaccine on Monday.
May 05, 2021 DESPITE its information drive, the Lapu-Lapu City Government has reported a low turnout of senior citizens having themselves inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine.
The possible reasons could be that some residents who are 60 years old and above have difficulty going to the vaccination sites or they do not know where the vaccination sites are located, said Grace Mary Carungay, the city epidemiological and surveillance unit officer.
On the resumption of vaccination efforts for the elderly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, only 268 senior citizens had themselves inoculated in the city’s three vaccination sites 195 in Gun-ob Elementary School, 69 in the Barangay Agus’ gym and four in the Sta. Rosa Hospital.
