I am an octogenarian volunteering as a teacher in a government school in Chandigarh, which despite its limitations, provides education to the poorest of the poor. Quarantined at home for months, the teacher in me missed the school, and the students. After a long, forced hibernation, I was longing to be back with my students, for I regard teaching as my passion.
It was a pleasant morning when I drove down to the school after more than six months of house arrest. I entered the school wearing a mask, now a part of my attire.
