U.S. Department of Education has terminated federal recognition of the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools ACICS a national accrediting agency. The loss of recognition is not a sudden surprise. The decision was the culmination of a six-year-long process.
USCIS posted a notice that as of Aug. 19, 2022, US Department of Education no longer recognizes Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools ACICS as accrediting agency. This change affects two immigration-related student programs and other immigration benefits.
