As lakhs of students of CBSE Class 10, 12 across the country are demanding that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancel the CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 due to rising coronavirus cases, Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Monday (April 12) said that the state government will write to the CBSE, CISCE and other boards to reconsider Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 dates.

Amid rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases in India, several students, teachers and parents are urging the CBSE to either cancel the upcoming CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Eams 2021 or to hold the Board Exams 2021 in online mode but the CBSE has made it clear that it has now plans to cancel the CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also said few days ago that the exams will be held in offline mode and the CBSE will ensure the safety of the students.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Sunday seeking cancellation of the CBSE Board exams, saying it will be impossible to ensure safety of students at crowded exam centres.
