Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of acting as a "cell" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Yadav made the comment in response to CBI summons regarding a mining case before the elections. He also criticised the BJP for alleged voter fraud in the Chandigarh mayoral poll.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday issued summons to BRS leader K Kavitha in Delhi excise policy scam case next week, reported PTI, citing officials.
In October, he had placed the evidence against Moitra before the Lok Sabha ethics committee. The committee s recommendation against Moitra followed a complaint by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who alleged that Moitra had accepted cash in exchange for asking certain questions in Parliament.
India News: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned lawyer Jai Dehadrai in connection with its probe against former TMC MP Mahua Moitra in a Lokpal-referred corruption complaint. Dehadrai, who was once close to Moitra, had leveled serious corruption allegations against her. The CBI has asked Dehadrai to appear before the agency to record his version.
