The Turkish FA (TFF) has stated its intention for the Turkish Super Lig will resume on Tuesday 19 December from a week-long suspension after a referee was hospitalised having been punched to the ground by a club president at the end of a match.Faruk Koca, president of Super Lig side MKE Ankaragucu, raced onto the field and hit referee Halil Umut Meler after a draw against Caykur Rizespor on Monday.Meler was hospitalised after being knocked to the floor by Koca, whose team had conceded a 97th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw.Meler has subsequently left hospital with a swollen eye and Koca was one of three individuals involved in the incident arrested on Tuesday, with matches across Turkey temporarily put on hold amid the fallout from the incident.Turkish FA (TFF) chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi told reporters on Wednesday: "We will never allow attacks or disproportionate pressure on our referees.
