PHILIPSBURG: - Members of the Detective Department of KPSM, together with the Federal Detectives, are currently investigating an incident that took place at Sint Maarten Medical Center in Cay Hill, whereby a police officer was involved.
After having consulted with the prosecutor it was decided to arrest the officer Q.N.A. for the destruction of property, for damages done at the Sint Maarten Medical Center.
The Chief of police requested the Department of Internal Affairs to immediately launch a disciplinary into the incident that took place at Sint Maarten Medical Center. No further information will be given at this time.

Pond Island: - TelEm Group’s team of Outside Plant technicians and contractors will be carrying out Fiber maintenance works in the Cul de Sac and Cay Hill areas during the morning hours Sunday, January 31, with some interruptions in telecommunication services in these expected.
The works will take place between 6:00 am and 1:00 pm Sunday, and is expected to take seven (7) hours - weather permitting.
Residents and businesses located in the following areas are here informed that during the scheduled hours of maintenance they can expect interruptions in their internet and landline connections.

PHILIPSBURG: - Police are continuing the investigation into the shooting that took place on July 27th, 2020 where a man lost his life on Hyssop Road, in Cay Hill. During the investigation, it emerged that a second person must have been involved in the shooting.
On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the detective department arrested the first suspect with the initials M.R in connection with the fatal shooting which resulted in the death of J.B.A.
After the arrest of the suspect, M.A. a search of the suspect s home was carried out. In the house of the suspect various items of evidence, such as a firearm, were seized.
