A cold but mostly dry storm is blasting California with winds and some showers Friday, but forecasters say the weather should mostly clear up by the weekend.
SAN DIEGO — A strong Pacific storm system is expected to bring “life threatening flooding” and heavy snow to California on Sunday and early into the week, according to the National Weather Service.

It was quite the windy Saturday for the Central Coast, especially in southern Santa Barbara County.
Strong pressure gradients with upper level support brought gusty winds that were up to 65 mph in places like Gaviota.

Because of these strong winds, a Wind Advisory is in place in southern Santa Barbara County through late tonight as more strong winds are on the way this evening.

Sunny skies prevailed across the Central Coast Saturday, with temperatures around normal.
Northerly pressure gradients were rather strong, with some areas seeing gusts over 40 mph!

Wind advisories are in effect for the entire Central Coast, with one advisory for southern Santa Barbara County extending through 3 a.m. Sunday.

These winds also come with the potentials for Sundowner winds in that area as well.
The rest of the Central Coast has wind advisories expiring at 10 p.m., however there are still chances of gusty NE winds that could affect the Santa Lucia Hills and mountains.
