The work is being carried out by Alncom, the Alnwick-based local broadband experts.
Alncom managing director Stephen Pinchen said: “We were originally going to install a full fibre network around the Morwick Road area of Warkworth, but made the decision to extend this into the rest of the village via Morwick and The Butts, then widen the whole full fibre network to Acklington and the surrounding areas in Northumberland. We are local and it’s important that our home region gets access to the fastest, gigabit capable broadband available.”

Alncom, based on the Cawledge Business Park, now has around 25 staff and is likely to be recruiting more engineers as demand grows.
