AN iconic red K1 telephone box which has been part of the streetscape of Cawdor Village for many decades has disappeared.
Members of Cawdor and West Nairnshire Community Council heard the kiosk was sold for £1 by BT to a local joiner and there were plans by the Cawdor Heritage Group to relocate it and use it as an information point.
But at their February meeting it was reported to members that the telephone box was removed from beside the churchyard entrance in Main Street near the old Post Office and loaded on to a lorry and taken away.
