The Karnataka government has filed a petition with the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to review its order on releasing water to Tamil Nadu. The Deputy Chief Minister, D K Shivakumar, also stated that preparations are underway for the construction of the Mekedatu balancing reservoir.
AIADMK chief and Opposition leader Edappadi K.Palaniswami slammed the DMK government for lack of foresightedness in the Cauvery issue and urged the state government to call an all-party meet on the issue.
