Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has told a delegation of farmers, Dalits, labourers, and Kannada activists that the government believes Cauvery water should not be released to Tamil Nadu. He mentioned that a decision would be made after meeting with an expert team. Two committees will review the situation and issue orders regarding Cauvery water distribution.
The Tamil Nadu police have warned of stern action against those spreading fake news on the ongoing Cauvery water-sharing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Reportedly, the police have registered against two persons in different parts of the state for spreading fake news on the issue.
