A local favourite summer fast food franchise is getting some national recognition.
The owner of Dairy Queen on Baseline Road at Cranford Way has been recognized as the company’s Top Western Fundraiser for 2020 by raising thousands of dollars for the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

“The Stollery Children’s Hospital has been dear to my heart forever and it is good for the staff to give back to the community,” explained Michael Liber, owner of the Cranford Way Dairy Queen. “In the last 10 years, we’ve been the top western contributor and the last seven years we’ve been top in all of Canada for fundraising by Dairy Queen.”
It would be wrong to say TOMS shoes invented the Buy-One-Give-One model when it hit the market in 2006, but students of purpose marketing would agree that it quickly became the best-known company associated with that form of embedded giving.
