Today is April Fool s Day, meaning it can be pretty ticky to know what s real and not real on the internet. But since that s the way internet is basically every day anyway, we re taking the plunge and reporting that there s a new cat-fronted metal band called Cattera.
The band is led by a former street cat called Roope-Shakir, whose owner is Fearless Records product manager Anna Mrzyglocki. I knew Roope-Shakir had star power from the moment he entered my apartment, Mrzyglocki said in a press release. I heard his emotion-filled meows and knew he needed to be the front cat of a metal band. It sparked a passion for A&R I never knew I had. People may think Cattera is just another industry plant, but there s real talent here.
