In gratitude, Pro-Bone-O presented Joyner with the “Volunteer of the Year Award” last year, streaming the presentation live on its Facebook page, according to board member Catrina Mathewson.
Before the pandemic, the clinic met clients on the second and fourth Sundays of each month in a warehouse at the Eugene Mission. That all came to a grinding halt with the COVID-19 shutdown.
With Pro-Bone-O clinics on hold, Joyner went back to worrying about his day job as an in-home care provider, but as he drove around town he would cross paths with former clients and yearned to help them if he could.
