So, is it worth it? That depends. I’ve spent weeks testing the performance of Epson’s EF12 portable laser projector, and I found myself raving about it to friends and colleagues with a couple of caveats. It has built-in Android TV for easy content streaming (with some notable exceptions that we’ll discuss more in detail below), it’s surprisingly loud and packs quite a bit of bass for a relatively small device, and it’s bright enough that you can get away with some projection during daytime hours, depending on what you’re watching and where. If you’ve been hoping to upgrade your old TV for an OLED model but don’t want to spend a fortune for a decently sized display, Vizio’s OLED is the TV for you. For perfect blacks while watching movies or TV, you probably want an OLED. The OLED display to buy last year was the LG CX (OLED65CXPUA). But even with steep discounts on that TV right now, you’re looking at somewhere in the ballpark of $US2,200 ($2,863) for the 65-inch version at the time of this writing. And that number also doesn’t take into account what

Quibi s Decaying Library of Content Will Soon Be Free on Roku Quibi’s content is officially heading to Roku. It feels like either a month or roughly 100 years since we found out that the short-lived streaming experiment from Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman crashed and burned roughly six short months after its rocky launch. But Quibi had managed to churn out a significant amount of original content prior to and after its rollout content with big, splashy Hollywood names and studios attached. Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Roku was in talks to snap up all that content for the Roku Channel. Now, it’s official.

Best Budget 4K TV for Most People

Best Budget 4K TV for Most People Image: Catie Keck/Gizmodo There’s an argument to be made that shopping for a new TV near or around the beginning of the year, when companies are gearing up to tease the next year’s worth of displays at CES, is foolish. Sure, if you want the latest and greatest, you should probably hold out for whatever’s coming down the pipeline. But if you want to score a steal of a deal on a TV you’ve had your eye on for a while, end-of-year sales make this the time to buy.
