Nurses. As the title helpfully suggests, it follows the trials and tribulations of a group of frontline caregivers at the fictional St Jude’s Hospital. In typical medical soap fashion, we initially meet our central quintet on their first day. After the predictable jibes from ER veterans about them being “fresh meat”, our nervous five are given a pep talk by charge nurse Sinead O’Rourke (Cathy White), which is both inspiring and sobering. Eight Livonians are running for four available seats on city council. The spots currently held by Jim Jolly, Laura Toy, Cathy White and Rob Donovic are all up for grabs. White is term-limited and cannot run this cycle, so at least one seat will change hands.
Eight candidates is not enough to force a primary election, so voters will only head to polls in November to vote for council. Candidates have until Friday afternoon to withdraw.

A new year, but a similar story.
Anyone who thought the end of 2020 would mean a farewell to the uncertainty and occasional chaos around Western Australia s border has had a rude awakening.
As the events of the past few days have shown, WA s border situation is still extremely precarious and can change in an instant.
No-one knows that better than the 16,000 people in WA abruptly forced into isolation in a New Year s nightmare that left many shellshocked, devastated or scrambling to travel back to Melbourne as soon as they could.

A book club that is associated with the membership of Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) of Washington Court House simply named “The Book Club” is composed of 10 DKG members, including Marie Fetters, Cassandra Furlong, Nancy Mowery, Sandy Sowash, Susan Stuckey, Kim Bonnell, Dianne Junk, Debra Wing, Christy Eckstein, and Cathy White.
The Book Club was formally established in October of 2013. The club currently meets on the fourth Monday of the month and due to the pandemic has been meeting by Zoom in recent months. The club has found that there are advantages to meeting by Zoom.
