Richard Wershe Jr. in White Boy A documentary about convicted Detroit drug dealer Richard Wershe Jr., aka White Boy Rick, first debuted at the Detroit Free Press Film Festival at the Detroit Institute of Arts in March 2017. The crowd included people who were in the film: Retired FBI agent Herman Groman, who dealt with Wershe when he was a teen on the streets, convicted drug dealer Johnny Curry, former WDIV and NBC reporter Chris Hansen and reporter-author Scott Burnstein. Now, White Boy, is streaming on Netflix. (It got a 91-percent audience rating at Rotten Tomatoes.) The 75-minute documentary, which includes former FBI agents, criminal defense attorneys, reporters, former drug traffickers and gangsters, is directed by Shawn Rech.
