The latest killer asteroid hype is just absurd

A well-documented asteroid (asteroid 1994 PC1) will pass some 1.2 million miles from Earth on Tuesday. It won't skim or buzz by Earth. It's not nearly an imminent threat. It's not something NASA would warn society about. And if the space agency was concerned enough to issue a warning, such an announcement would be unprecedented.
