Heading into the near year and out of the holidays Catholic Charities, like many non-profits that rely on volunteers, experiences a post-holiday lull in volunteer hours.
Marian House continues serving meals despite obstacles of Covid-19
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) Normally serving 650 meals a month, the Marian House has seen a major decline this year due to Covid-19.
Andy Barton, CEO of Catholic Charities for Central Colorado said, “We think that a lot of that number was around duplicate meals and not people but we are serving about 150 to 200 meals compared to that 650 on a given month.”
Like many other businesses and non-profits, the Marian House had to learn how to adapt. With the state currently in level red restrictions, indoor dining for the Marian House is not a possibility at this time.
