The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants Des Moines Field Office expects more refugees in the central Iowa area during the Biden Administration. Once they come here, they they want to settle in, they want to be part of the community. They want to go to church, they want their kids to go to school, and they really just become our neighbors, our newest Iowan neighbors, Des Moines Director Kerri True-Funk said.
A group that helps resettle refugees in central Iowa is preparing the area for possible new arrivals.
